In a move to regain Nigeria’s national values, the National Orientation Agency and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission have partnered on behavioural orientation for Nigerians.
Behavioural Orientation refers to an individual’s unique way of thinking, feeling, and behaving in various situations, shaped by their attitudes, values, personality, and life experiences. It influences how people interact with others, approach tasks, and make decisions.
This was made known during a courtesy visit led by the Director General of NOA, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, and his management team to the EFCC Head office in Abuja on Wednesday.
The collaboration according to a statement made available to Dailyeconomy will focus on behaviour modifications, youth engagements, citizen codes and leadership value Orientation.
In his remark, Issa-Onilu emphasised that the framework for value reorientation cuts across all components of the community, stating that is the reason stakeholders must work together to achieve the desired result.
The statement reads partly, “Mallam Issa-Onilu said the framework for value reorientation cuts across all segments of the society and that is why all stakeholders must work together to achieve the desired result.
“The Executive Chairman of EFCC, Mr Olanipekun Olukoyede expressed appreciation for the opportunity to meet and used the opportunity to highlight the shared mission of both agencies in promoting transparency, ethical conduct, and behavioural reorientation in Nigeria.
“Mr Olukoyode commended NOA’s role in behavioural modification and public engagement, noting its alignment with EFCC’s mission to combat corruption. He acknowledged that NOA’s efforts in value reorientation have helped foster a more informed and responsible citizenry, supporting EFCC’s objectives.”
However, Olukoyode reiterated EFCC’s commitment to blending enforcement with preventive techniques and expressed confidence in the positive impact of continued collaboration between the NOA and the EFCC.
