Manchester United manager Michael Carrick has rejected suggestions that external criticism is affecting him, insisting the real issue is the team’s need for better performances and wins.

Speaking after the side’s latest outing, Carrick said, “The noise? No, what bothers me is that we want better results. We don’t think things are perfect by any means. We need to win football matches.”

He also praised the fans, adding, “The supporters were top-drawer again today, and we have to give them something to keep shouting about.”

The comments come amid a mixed start to the 2026/27 Premier League season for United under Carrick, who took charge after his previous spell at Middlesbrough.

Manchester played 1:1 on Sunday against Fulham.

Recent results have included draws and defeats, leaving the team mid-table and facing growing pressure to convert performances into consistent wins.
