At the first Executive Council meeting held in the newly commissioned Exco Chamber at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun announced significant infrastructural and traditional council developments.

He stated in a post shared on Saturday via X, “We approved a new set of road projects and housing developments aimed at strengthening infrastructure and supporting Ogun State’s expanding industrial base.”

The approved road reconstruction projects include Miliki Junction–Bode Olude–Alhaji Sugar Avenue in Abeokuta North, Paddy Arikawe Road in Sagamu Local Government Area, and Itanrin–Sabo Road connecting Ijebu-Ode and Odogbolu Local Governments.

On housing, the Governor revealed approval for “26 duplexes; 12 five-bedroom detached units with two-room boys’ quarters and 14 four-bedroom semi-detached units with one-room boys’ quarters within the Ogun State Housing Corporation Office in Ibara, Abeokuta.”

Additional approval covered nine duplexes at Iseya Court, Obasanjo Hilltop, Abeokuta, featuring both detached and semi-detached four-bedroom units with attached boys’ quarters.

The council also ratified the declaration of traditional councils responsible for appointing rulers, approving key appointments such as Chief Lai Labode as Are Egba and Dr Oluwadairo Adeleke as Ogboye Egba from Abeokuta South.

Other notable appointments included traditional rulers across Yewa South, Yewa North, Ipokia, and Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Areas.

Abiodun emphasised the importance of these decisions in fostering community development and sustaining cultural heritage alongside infrastructural progress.
