Senator Adams Oshiomhole has launched an attack on opposition presidential hopefuls Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, accusing Atiku of living in Dubai and returning to Nigeria only for elections, while arguing that Obi cannot fix Nigeria in four years after governing Anambra for eight.

The Edo North senator made the remarks at an All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign rally in Calabar, Cross River State, where supporters gathered in party attire.

Oshiomhole mocked Atiku’s criticism of President Bola Tinubu’s prayer trip, saying the former vice-president was not positioned to question the president’s commitment to Nigeria.

“Atiku said we should not go and pray, all right, but Atiku lives in Dubai. He only comes home on the eve of every election, and he will lose in January. By February, Atiku will be back in Dubai,” said Oshiomhole.

He further claimed that Atiku “does not live here” and “does not know what the people are going through,” positioning the APC as the party more connected to ordinary Nigerians.

Turning to Peter Obi, Oshiomhole questioned the former Anambra governor’s pledge to deliver national change within a single four-year presidential term.

“If Peter Obi couldn’t fix Anambra in 8 years how can he look you koro koro in the eyes and say he only needs 4 years,” Oshiomhole added.

The senator also accused Obi of seeking a “turn-by-turn democracy,” adding that Nigeria needs leaders willing to “speak the truth to the people.”

He argued that infighting among Atiku, Obi and Rotimi Amaechi would make it easier for President Tinubu and the APC to win.
