Samsung has fired a fresh salvo in its long-running rivalry with Apple, posting a pointed jab from its official US account during Apple’s September 9, 2026 “Surprise and Shine” event, where the iPhone 18 Pro and the first foldable iPhone Duo were unveiled.
Samsung writes, “Let us know when you’re done reheating our leftovers,” was shared shortly after Apple revealed its entry into the foldable category, implying that the tech giant was playing catch-up to Samsung, which pioneered mainstream foldable phones with the 2019 Galaxy Fold and has since expanded into multi-fold designs, including tri-fold models.
The post quickly went viral, racking up more than 12 million views and sparking heavy engagement as users weighed in on the foldable race.
The roast was part of a live-tweet series from Samsung that included lines such as “folding 3 ways” and “so far, so same,” highlighting the company’s years of experience in bendable displays and framing Apple’s move as a belated imitation rather than an innovation.
The exchange underscores how the Samsung–Apple rivalry has migrated from courtroom battles and spec sheets to real-time social media banter, with each launch event now doubling as a stage for brand one-upmanship.
