At the ongoing 2025 National Convention in Ibadan, Oyo State, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) made headlines with a firm stance against internal discord by expelling prominent members.
The party announced on X, “National Convention Takes Decisive Action – Expels Nyesom Wike, Samuel Anyanwu, Kamaldeen Ajibade, Ayo Fayose, Austin Nwachukwu, and Others for Anti-Party Activities.”
This landmark decision, ratified by an overwhelming majority of delegates, aims to “restore unity, discipline, and focus ahead of the 2027 general elections.”
By removing members accused of “anti-party conduct that have plagued its progress,” the PDP signals its determination to consolidate strength and eliminate internal divisions that have hampered its effectiveness.
The expulsions, which include influential figures such as former Governor Ayo Fayose and respected legal practitioner Kamaldeen Ajibade (SAN), reflect the party’s strict approach to enforcing discipline and commitment among its leadership and members.
