The Delta State Police Command has arrested four suspects in separate operations targeting cultism and violent crimes, recovering firearms, ammo, and illicit drugs.

According to a statement obtained on Monday from the Command, the first raid on April 11 at Orerokpe, Okpe LGA, operatives intercepted Peter Onajite, 32, a suspected notorious cult leader and armed robber.

A search yielded “one locally made double barrel cut-to-size pistol, two live cartridges, and one expended cartridge,” plus suspected Tramadol sachets.

Onajite “confessed to being the leader of Juris Confraternity” and remains in custody.

The next day, April 12, in Ibusa, police foiled a suspected Aiye cult initiation led by fugitive Chinedu Onyeama.

Three suspects, including a female, were nabbed at Jordan Road with “one English-made Beretta pistol with one round of live ammunition, three battle axes, one hammer, one cutlass, and thirty-nine firelighters.”

CP Yemi Oyeniyi in the statement commended the teams, reaffirming the Command’s commitment to “intelligence-led policing” and vowing to “clamp down on cult-related activities and other violent crimes.”
