Police promises to be professional in handling protest

Abdullateef Fowewe

The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has promised that police will be careful and professional in handling any protest in the country as it is a legal right of the citizens.

This was revealed in a post shared by the Force Police Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, on Tuesday via his X (formally Twitter) handle.

In the post, Adejobi referenced the Inspector General’s statement, although he did not specify when or where it was made.

Adejobi posted, “We will be professional in handling any protest in Nigeria. Right to protest is right to peaceful protest -IGP Egbetokun.”

Dailyeconomy on Monday, July 22, 2024, reported that the NPF encouraged all Nigerians to engage in peaceful and constructive activities that would contribute to the progress and unity of our dear country.
