The Lagos State Police Command has discovered a sophisticated indoor cannabis cultivation facility at a residential property in Apapa and arrested two suspects in connection with the operation.

According to a press release issued on Tuesday by the Lagos Police Command, the discovery was made on 2 November at about 08:15 hrs following credible intelligence.

Operatives searched the premises and found “a sophisticated indoor farming facility equipped for the cultivation, harvesting and processing of substances suspected to be cannabis.”

The two men arrested are Thomas Razvickas, a 49-year-old Polish national, and James Chisome, aged 36, a Nigerian.

Both were residents of the searched address.

The police said the suspects “are currently in police custody, where they have made confessional statements and are providing useful information to aid ongoing investigations.”

Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, later visited the scene to inspect the facility and receive a briefing.

He “commended the operatives for their vigilance and effective intelligence-led policing,” and reiterated the Command’s commitment to “combating drug-related offences, dismantling criminal networks and ensuring that Lagos State does not serve as a safe haven for criminal activities.”

The police also thanked the public for their cooperation and urged residents to continue providing timely and credible information
