Protest: Looting Kano NCC industrial pack, a setback says Tijani

The Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Bosun Tijani has reacted to the looting of the Nigerian Communications Commission industrial pack in Kano State by protesters.
On Thursday, August 1, the nationwide protest against economic hardship kicked start across Nigeria. While demonstrating protest, the protesters in Kano State raided and set ablaze the Information and Communication Technology Innovation Centre, which is scheduled for commissioning next week.
Reacting to the calamity via his X (formally Twitter) on Thursday, Tijani stated that the incident was a slight setback for the journey to deepen the technology workforce and create job opportunities for the youth across the country.
He wrote, “Sad to learn that our Digital Innovation Park in Kano slated for launch next week to support our technical talent accelerator (3MTT) has been set ablaze and looted by protesters. “A slight setback for our journey to deepen our workforce for technology while creating job opportunities for the youth. Millions of Naira down the drain.”
However, in another post, Tijani acknowledged that the ministry has been getting support to renovate the centre for effective use.
“To our 3MTTNigeria community and all the amazing young talent in Kano, your dreams are valid! This was just a few weeks ago at our #3MTT Hackathon in Kano.
“We are already getting support to make sure the park is renovated for your use,” he stated.
