Protests have erupted across multiple United States cities, including New York City, Seattle, and Columbus, in response to the fatal shooting of a woman identified as Good during a large-scale Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operation in Minneapolis.
Demonstrators converged at Foley Square in New York, chanting slogans targeting U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem.
Protesters demanded transparency and accountability for the incident, which took place amid an enforcement action focused on parts of the local Somali community.
DHS representatives and Vice President J.D. Vance defended the shooting as self-defense, claiming Good used her vehicle in a threatening manner toward agents.
However, Minneapolis local leaders and eyewitnesses challenged this narrative, insisting no clear or immediate threat warranted lethal force.
They urged an independent probe into the full details.
Good’s family portrayed her as a Christian mother with no criminal history, noting she had just dropped her child off at school before the confrontation.
The FBI has launched an investigation as public outrage simmers over aggressive immigration enforcement tactics in the region.
