RwandAir has pledged to enhance its cargo operations in Nigeria, aiming to expand its market share.

The commitment was announced during a Cargo Agents Workshop on October 17, where the airline’s Regional Manager, Dennis Rwiliriza, discussed plans for a dedicated freighter service to address capacity issues.

Dailyeconomy obtained this in a statement made available for journalists on Wednesday.

He said, “Though limited aircraft space and cargo protocols such as those for dangerous goods require a little more time for appropriate processing, the new service will streamline cargo operations, increasing efficiency and reliability.”

Rwiliriza emphasised the importance of feedback from cargo agents to improve service delivery and pricing strategies.

“The whole purpose of this meeting is to address any areas where there are difficulties as you conduct business with us.

“We are here for you, so you can be rest assured that we will take whatever feedback you give us, and address that which requires our attention,” he stated.

Rwiliriza went on to discuss the details of rate negotiation and competitive pricing and explained that RwandAir takes cognizance of prevailing costs, competition, and profit margins when determining cargo rates.

He urged agents to inform the airline whenever the rates seem to discourage potential clients so as to allow the airline look into finding a way to make adjustments accordingly for mutual benefit.

The event concluded with awards for outstanding cargo agents, highlighting their contributions to the airline’s success in the past year.
