Liverpool has confirmed the departure of head coach, Arne Slot on Saturday.
The England football club in a statement on Saturday says, “Liverpool FC can confirm Arne Slot is to depart his role as head coach with immediate effect and that the process to appoint a successor is underway.
“He leaves with a Premier League title to his name and our deepest gratitude and appreciation.”
Club sources say the decision was triggered directly by Mohamed Salah’s public criticism of inconsistent results and Liverpool’s style of play under Slot.
Salah reportedly posted a complaint on social media that highlighted frustration in the squad and amplified concerns within the boardroom, prompting swift action.
Arne Slot issued a farewell to supporters stressing, “It’s been an amazing ride together with Liverpool, I am so grateful that we were able to win the league last season.”
However, it was gathered that Andoni Iraola is set to become Liverpool’s next manager.
Club insiders say negotiations will move forward quickly and the formal appointment is expected soon.
