Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani has nominated Jerry Adams, Executive Chairman of the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS), as his running mate for the 2027 governorship election.
Adams, who was appointed to lead KADIRS in 2023, was unveiled by Governor Sani on Tuesday following what the governor described as extensive consultations.
In announcing the choice, Sani said the pick reflected principles of inclusion, fairness and equitable representation, and highlighted Adams’s record as an experienced public servant and tax administrator whose tenure has bolstered the state’s fiscal capacity.
The nomination comes as the current deputy governor, Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, is constitutionally ineligible to seek a third consecutive term.
Adams hails from Southern Kaduna, a region whose representation in state leadership has been a sensitive and recurring political consideration.
Governor Sani said the selection aligns with his administration’s emphasis on merit, competence and broader representation across Kaduna State.
