Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has signed updated power purchase agreements with three firms to boost electricity for key public facilities.

At Lagos House, Marina, the governor witnessed the signing with Fenchurch Power for Adiyan and Iju water facilities, Mainland Power for Ikeja, Oshodi, and Anthony (with expansion potential), and Viathan for Island key sites on Sunday.

“Today at Lagos House, Marina, I witnessed the signing of three power purchase agreements designed to build on existing capacity and address what has not been working,” Sanwo-Olu said in a statement.

The deals tie payments to actual metered supply, ending payments for undelivered power.

“We will no longer pay for power that is not delivered. Payments are now tied to actual, metered supply, helping us reduce waste and manage costs more effectively,” he added.

This supports Lagos’s 2024 Electricity Law, aiming for scalable, reliable power and better resource use.
