APC governorship candidate for Oyo and Senator representing Oyo South, Sharafadeen Alli, has denied any involvement in the June 3 abduction of Olaide Adegoke, younger sister of former Power Minister Adebayo Adelabu.

Alli’s media office in a statement on Sunday called social‑media links “false, malicious, baseless, irresponsible, defamatory, and politically motivated,” saying the claims rest on “unverified allegations allegedly made by a suspect under investigation.”

“For the avoidance of doubt, Senator Alli has no connection whatsoever with the said criminal incident,” the statement read.

Adegoke and her 12‑year‑old twin sons were taken by gunmen in Ibadan but were rescued unharmed on June 6 by the Nigeria Police Force’s Intelligence Response Team, Dailyeconomy reports.

Alli urged the public to disregard the reports and asked security agencies to probe the source of the narrative.
