Manchester United legend Sir Alex Ferguson, 84, was admitted to hospital as a precaution after feeling unwell at Old Trafford ahead of the club’s Premier League match against Liverpool on Sunday.
The former manager, who led United to 13 Premier League titles during his 26-year tenure, received prompt medical attention before kick-off.
Ambulance services transported him from the stadium, with club sources confirming he remained conscious and stable throughout.
Ferguson has been recovering well since suffering a brain haemorrhage in 2018.
Updates indicate he is expected to return home soon to continue his recuperation.
However, the match proceeded as scheduled, with fans at Old Trafford holding a minute’s applause for the Scot in the opening moments.
