Tinubu approves $1bn for comprehensive reconstruction of major Nigerian ports

Special Assistant to the President on Social Media, Olusegun Dada, announced on Saturday that President Tinubu has approved a total sum of $1 billion for the complete reconstruction of five key ports across Nigeria.
The ports targeted for rehabilitation include Apapa, Tincan, Calabar, Warri, and Port Harcourt.
Highlighting the significance of the project, Dada stated, “A total sum of $1bn has been approved by President Tinubu for the TOTAL RECONSTRUCTION of five major ports in Nigeria with a delivery period of 48 months.”
The rehabilitation is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2026.
The initiative aims at modernizing port infrastructure to “attract foreign investment, and reposition the maritime sector for competitiveness in the global logistics chain.”
