Tinubu hails NRS Chairman Zacch Adedeji on birthday, praises revenue reforms

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Chairman of the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS), Dr Zacch Adedeji, on the occasion of his birthday, commending his leadership and contributions to Nigeria’s revenue administration.

In a statement issued on Thursday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President praised Adedeji for introducing fresh ideas and global best practices at the 83-year-old revenue agency.

President Tinubu noted that under Adedeji’s stewardship, the NRS has embraced automation, strengthened institutional capacity, and prioritised the upskilling of staff to improve efficiency and national revenue performance.

“I salute the NRS Chairman for his visionary and charismatic dedication in restructuring, aligning and managing the revenue profile of the country,” the President said.

Tinubu highlighted Adedeji’s historic achievement of meeting budget revenue targets in the third quarter of 2025, describing the feat as a major boost to economic stability and growth.

The President also lauded Adedeji’s role in the adoption of the National Single Window, a federal digital platform designed to streamline import and export processes, improve transparency, and reduce cargo clearance timelines from 21 days to just one week.

“Zacch has been instrumental in driving transformative reforms that stimulate the economy and promote prosperity,” Tinubu added.
Dr Adedeji previously served as a senior executive at Procter & Gamble,

Commissioner for Finance in Oyo State, and Executive Secretary of the National Sugar Development Council, where he established the National Sugar Institute.
He also served as Special Adviser to the President on Revenue before his appointment as Chairman of the Nigeria Revenue Service in September 2023.

President Tinubu prayed for God’s continued guidance, good health, wisdom and strength for Adedeji as he continues to serve the nation.
