Troops neutralise terrorists, rescue three hostages in Borno clash

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) have achieved a major victory early Sunday in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State, eliminating five terrorists and freeing three kidnapped civilians during a coordinated raid.

The operation unfolded at a known terrorist crossing point along the Sojiri axis, where OPHK forces collaborated with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF).

According to a statement from Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, Media Information Officer for the Joint Task Force (North East), “Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) have recorded another significant success following a well-coordinated operation against terrorist elements around in Kondunga Local Government Area of Borno State, which also led to the rescue of kidnapped civilians.”

No casualties were reported among the security forces, who recovered AK-47 rifles from the scene.

“The operation resulted in the neutralization of 5 terrorists without any casualty to own troops, demonstrating the effectiveness and professionalism of the security forces. Importantly, the troops successfully rescued 3 hostages abducted by the terrorists,” the statement added.

This success highlights ongoing efforts to combat insurgency in Nigeria’s northeast.

“This operation underscores the commitment of OPHK to both offensive action against terrorist elements and the protection of civilians, while highlighting the value of cooperation with local security partners. Troops morale remains high, and security forces continue to maintain dominance across the Theatre despite the dynamic security environment,” Uba noted.

“OPHK remains steadfast in its resolve to dismantle terrorist networks and restore lasting peace in the North East,” the statement concluded.
