In a recent video aimed at Nigerian men, Uriel emphasised that ageing is not a weakness, but rather a blessing that signifies life, wisdom, and grace.
She thereby expressed her disapproval of the tendency to evaluate women based on their age rather than their message or contributions, labeling such views as both superficial and disrespectful.
However, she encouraged individuals to appreciate the beauty of growing older and understand the purpose it brings, instead of undervaluing youth or using age as a means to ridicule.
Uriel could be heard saying, “So I want to say a quick one and this is going to be pinpointed to Nigerian men. It’s an absolute insult to humanity, to God, to use age discrimination against a woman. I post a video and the thing is you are not coherent with what the video teaches you but what you get out of that video is oh you’re old, that’s an insult because you’re not smart enough to digest and use the concept that was taught to you to better your life. But what you hold on to is that oh you’re getting older, it is better to get older than to be six feet under.
“There are billionaires who would give anything to come back and sell pure water on the street. So before you think twice and before you think insulting a woman because she is growing gracefully and beautifully is not an insult, it’s a blessing to age”.
Uriel’s message also stressed the importance of self-worth and dignity at any age, urging people not to mock what they don’t understand and reminding them that life has its own way of teaching valuable lessons.
Accompanying the video with caption she wrote, “On Aging & Self-Worth: There is NO shame in aging. Aging is a privilege. I’d rather grow older in purpose than be six feet under with regrets. Some people have all the money in the world — and still wish they had one more day to breathe. Don’t mock what you don’t understand. One day, life will remind you.”
