Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Baba-Ahmed emphasised that his continued participation in Nigeria’s political landscape depends on the country’s condition and the integrity of the electoral process.
“With my love for Nigeria undying, I would appropriately associate with groups and individuals who are like-minded to restore Nigeria,” Baba-Ahmed declared.
“If Nigeria is still around and there is an electoral system to follow, I’m ready to step up.”
When pressed about who he would be willing to serve as a running mate for, Baba-Ahmed was clear noting, “The second one is Peter Obi. I’m always with Peter Obi until he decides not to. I’m a Labour Party man, for God’s sake. I still want Peter Obi to come back to the Labour Party and contest for the 2027 election.”
Though he refrained from naming the first individual, Baba-Ahmed’s unequivocal support for Obi highlights his trust in the former presidential candidate’s leadership and vision for Nigeria.
