Manchester United captain, Bruno Fernandes has praised new signing Carlos Baleba as an energetic and physically powerful midfielder capable of carrying the team forward.
Speaking at the PFA Awards, where he was named the 2026 Players’ Player of the Year, Fernandes said the Cameroonian would add drive and strength to United’s midfield following his reported £70 million arrival from Brighton.
“He’s a very energetic player. Strong physically, he can push us up the pitch driving the ball,” Fernandes said.
The Portugal international also highlighted the club’s long-standing interest in the young midfielder, adding, “Young and exciting, the club have been following him for two years.”
Baleba’s arrival has reportedly generated excitement within the Manchester United squad, with the 22-year-old expected to bolster the side’s midfield options alongside recent recruits Youri Tielemans and Santos.
