A grieving grandmother from Oriire Local Government Area, Oyo State, has made an emotional public appeal to Governor Seyi Makinde after members of her family were kidnapped.
The woman could be heard saying that the abduction has left four of her grandchildren all in nursery school, including their mother who is a teacher.
“I have four grandchildren who are in nursery school, and my son’s wife, who is a teacher, is currently being held captive by kidnappers,” the woman said in Yoruba.
Her plea, captured on tape, highlighted the immediate human cost of the attack and the mounting fear among residents.
The short clip shows the woman speaking through tears as she appealed directly to Governor Makinde for help and swift action.
The abduction occurred in a community within Oriire LGA, an area that has reported rising security challenges in recent months.
Family members and neighbours have since called on state security agencies to intensify search and rescue operations and increase patrols to prevent further incidents.
There has been no public confirmation yet of a ransom demand or the identities of those responsible.
