Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara has declared his support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid and backed Kingsley (OK) Chinda as the next governor of the state.

The governor also announced his return to the Rainbow Coalition led by FCT Minister Nyesom Wike.

Speaking at a public event in Rivers State on Wednesday, Governor Fubara stated, “I am supporting President Tinubu for the presidency and OK Chinda to be the next governor of Rivers State. I am part of the Rainbow Coalition (Wike’s political group), and I’m back to my political family.”

The announcement comes amid ongoing political maneuvering ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The Rainbow Coalition is a cross-party alliance primarily aimed at delivering Rivers State for President Tinubu’s re-election while positioning candidates for state-level offices.

Fubara, who has previously pledged strong support for Tinubu and joined the APC, appears to be consolidating alliances within the broader coalition framework.

The move is seen as a strategic step to unify political forces in the oil-rich state.
