Manchester City superstar, Erling Haaland stole the spotlight at Gianluigi Donnarumma’s wedding in Italy by leading guests in the now-famous “Viking Row,” turning the reception into a lively football-style celebration.

Videos showed the Manchester City striker beating a drum and guiding the crowd through the synchronized rowing chant, with guests filming the moment on their phones.

Donnarumma married Alessia Elefante on Friday, July 24, in Puglia, and the festivities drew several high-profile guests, including Manchester City figures and other football personalities.

Haaland, who was among the guests, reportedly brought energy to the party by recreating the Norwegian chant that has become a viral fan ritual.

The “Viking Row” became widely known during Norway’s 2026 World Cup run, where fans and players used it as a proud nod to Viking heritage and team identity.

The chant involves sitting in formation, mimicking rowing motions, and following a drumbeat, making it one of the tournament’s most distinctive celebrations.

Haaland has been closely associated with the chant after helping popularise it during key matches.

The moment also highlighted the close relationship between Haaland and Donnarumma as Manchester City teammates.
