Iran’s military announced that it fired shore-to-sea cruise missiles at a U.S. naval vessel operating in the northern Indian Ocean, asserting that the ship retreated out of range following the engagement.

According to the Iranian statement, the attack occurred earlier in the day.

A video circulating alongside the claim shows a bright projectile or launch flash in hazy conditions, consistent with a missile firing, though details such as exact location, ship identity, and damage remain unconfirmed.

This latest claim fits into a pattern of escalating naval tensions in the region amid the broader Iran-U.S. conflict, particularly around the Strait of Hormuz and surrounding waters.

Iran has repeatedly asserted successful strikes or warning shots against American warships, while U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) has often denied such incidents, describing them as fabrications or violations of ceasefires.
