Iranian President, Masoud Pezeshkian has vowed that his country will resist oppression and stand with people facing injustice.

Pezeshkian made the remarks on Friday, September 11, 2026, during a meeting with Indian religious leaders, intellectuals and businesspeople in New Delhi, where he is attending the BRICS Summit.

“We will not bow our heads to oppression.

“We will pursue the rights of the oppressed. Not only will we do so, but we will also stand by the side of the oppressed,” the Iranian president said.

His comments reflect Tehran’s continued opposition to external pressure, as tensions remain high across West Asia.

Pezeshkian has previously criticised the United States and Israel, accusing them of using bullying tactics against Iran.

The remarks also come amid ongoing sanctions and reports of recent US airstrikes targeting Iranian positions.
