As part of preparations for the upcoming Nigeria International Airshow, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, attended the 55th Paris Airshow this week in France.

The prestigious event, organised annually by the SIAE, a subsidiary of the French Aerospace Industries Association (GIFAS)—is the largest of its kind in the civil aviation industry.

It serves as a global platform for showcasing cutting-edge innovations and facilitating high-level professional exchanges on the future of aerospace technology.

In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, Keyamo described it as “the largest and one of the most essential events in the field of civil aviation,” serving as a platform for showcasing innovations and professional exchanges on future technological advancements in aerospace.

The Minister said the movement aligns with his broader vision of transforming Nigeria’s aviation industry through strategic partnerships and modernization efforts, which have already started to position the country prominently on the global aviation map.

He wrote, “In preparation for the forthcoming Nigeria International Airshow, I visited the 55th Paris Airshow along with my team this week in Paris, France.

“The annual event is organized by a subsidiary of the French Aerospace Industries Association (GIFAS) called SIAE. It is the largest and one of the most essential events in the field of civil aviation. It is an avenue for showcasing the latest innovations and professional exchanges on future directions and technological advancements in the aerospace sector.

“Here’s a summary of our activities on DAY ONE of our visit.”
