After scoring twice in the recent 3-0 home win against Brighton & Hove Albion, Mbeumo explained the origin of their signature moves during an interview on the Inside Carrington podcast.

“It’s from a GIF from Homer Simpson,” Mbeumo said.

“Yeah, so if you go on the GIF (section in your phone) and you put ‘Homer Simpson dance’, you will be able to find it.”

The celebration, inspired by the iconic dance of Homer Simpson, the lead character of the longest-running American animated sitcom, has quickly become a highlight among fans.

The dance also features in the popular video game Fortnite, adding to its cultural relevance.

The dynamic African duo showcased the moves in the dressing room after their victory over the Seagulls, bringing smiles to teammates and fans alike.

Despite the spotlight, Mbeumo remained humble when accepting his second Player of the Month award as Manchester United’s current top scorer.

“Obviously, I’m very happy with this. But, as I always say, I think it’s teamwork, and a lot of players would have deserved this as well this month, so I’m happy,” he noted.
