Vice President Kashim Shettima and Brazilian Vice President Geraldo Alckmin have formalised a series of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) during the Nigeria–Brazil Strategic Dialogue Mechanism (SDM) held at the State House Conference Centre, Aressed.

The high-profile event was attended by Nigerian governors, federal ministers, heads of government agencies, and diplomatic representatives from both countries.

The newly signed agreements aim to deepen bilateral cooperation across key sectors including defence, economy, power and energy, culture, foreign relations, and health.

This milestone marks a significant step in strengthening the strategic partnership between Nigeria and Brazil, fostering collaboration for mutual growth and development.

Confirming the development, Shettima’s spokesman, Stanley Nkwocha, wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “Vice President Kashim Shettima @officialSKSM and Brazilian Vice President Geraldo Alckmin @geraldoalckmin have signed several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) during the Nigeria–Brazil Strategic Dialogue Mechanism (SDM) at the State House Conference Centre, Abuja.

“The event was witnessed by Nigerian Governors, ministers, heads of government agencies and departments, and members of both the Nigerian and Brazilian diplomatic corps.

“The MoUs signed during the SDM are to deepen cooperation between the two nations across various sectors, including defence cooperation, economy, power and energy, culture, foreign relations, health, and others.”
