Video: Road construction begins on Barikisu Iyede road, Onike, traffic diversion in effect — LASTMA

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has announced the commencement of a road rehabilitation project on Barikisu Iyede Road, Onike, resulting in the temporary closure of the road to all vehicular traffic.

In a timely update posted on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, LASTMA stated, “A road construction project has commenced on Barikisu Iyede Road, Onike. As a result, the road has been closed to traffic.”
To ease the flow of traffic and minimise inconvenience, motorists are advised to use the designated alternative route.
The recommended detour involves navigating through Ajayi Street to Lawani Street, which connects to Unilag Road.
The same route should be followed for the return journey to Onike Roundabout.
LASTMA urged all commuters to adhere to the diversion and exercise patience during the rehabilitation period.
“We encourage all motorists to follow the alternative route via Ajayi and Lawani Streets to ensure smooth traffic flow and safety for everyone during the roadworks,” LASTMA noted.
Motorists and residents are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and expect some delays as the road rehabilitation project progresses.
