Football icon, Cristiano Ronaldo has married his longtime partner, model and influencer Georgina Rodríguez, in a private civil ceremony in Portugal.
The couple, who have been together for a decade, tied the knot on 11 August 2026 in the coastal town of Cascais, near Lisbon, with their five children in attendance.
The wedding was described by the couple’s representatives as “a private and intimate moment attended by their five children.”
Portuguese media have dubbed it the “wedding of the year,” noting the discreet nature of the event held at a civil registry in Cascais, where the family now has a home.
Ronaldo confirmed the marriage on Instagram with a close-up photo of two hands—his over Rodríguez’s—both wearing wedding bands, captioned simply with the initials “C” and “G.”
The post reportedly surpassed three million likes within 30 minutes.
Ronaldo, 41, and Rodríguez, 32, met in 2016 at a Gucci boutique on Calle Serrano in Madrid, where Rodríguez was working as a sales assistant while Ronaldo played for Real Madrid.
They announced their engagement exactly a year earlier, on 11 August 2025, when Rodríguez posted a picture of a large oval-cut diamond ring and wrote in Spanish: “Sí, quiero. En esta y en todas mis vidas” (“Yes, I do. In this and in all my lives”).
The couple share two daughters, Alana Martina, born in 2017, and Bella, born in April 2022—while Rodríguez has also helped raise Ronaldo’s three older children.
The family currently lives in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where Ronaldo plays for Al-Nassr, the club he joined in 2022 and where he signed a new two-year deal last year, keeping him there until 2027.
Ronaldo, captain of Portugal, recently played in his sixth men’s World Cup—a record he shares with Lionel Messi and has won the Ballon d’Or five times.
Last year, the Bloomberg Billionaires Index valued his net worth at $1.4 billion, making him the first footballer to reach billionaire status.
