Video: TikToker highlights police assault on e-hailing driver

A TikTok user known as #abekeadams has voiced her disbelief over a recent incident of police brutality in which officers attacked an e-hailing driver whose identity remains unknown.

In a viral video, the police are seen physically assaulting the driver while forcing him to get into their van.
In her TikTok post, she remarke, “I’m still in shock that this occurred. Although this isn’t the first time I’ve seen something like this, it’s the first time it’s escalated to such violence.”
Dailyeconomy on May 8, reported that the Imo Police Command disciplined three officers—Ofem Obongha, Obinna Okereke, and Anayo Ekezie—after a viral video surfaced showing them assaulting a civilian on Owerri, Aba Road.
It may be recalled that on May 6, a member of the Nigeria Police Force was recorded on video harassing an unidentified young man in the Gwarimpa area of Abuja.
In response to public outcry over the video, the Police Complaint Response Unit announced through a post on their official X (formerly Twitter) account that the officer had been apprehended.
