The Lagos State Police Command has released a live update on the response to a multi-vehicle accident at Otedola Bridge, showing Commissioner of Police Tijani Fatai on site alongside Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Sector Commander Kehinde Hamzat, the Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Ministry of Transportation, Olawale Musa, and LASTMA General Manager Bakare Oki, who were “present and supervising the evacuation of the accidented vehicles and ensuring free flow of traffic.”

Footage shared by the Command with the update shows extensive wreckage on the wet carriageway, including a crushed Lexus sedan, a white car pinned beneath a container, and overturned trucks—among them vehicles linked to MACOS Logistics—while recovery trucks and personnel worked to clear debris and restore movement.

The visible coordination between police, FRSC, LASTMA and the state transport ministry highlights the push to quickly resolve disruptions at Otedola Bridge, a known traffic chokepoint in Lagos that is prone to serious accidents.

“The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, psc, mnips, the FRSC Lagos State Sector Commander, Corp Commander, Kehinde Hamzat, Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Ministry of Transportation, Mr Olawale Musa, GM LASTMA, Mr Bakare Oki, present and supervising the evacuation of the accidented vehicles and ensuring free flow of traffic,” the Command had written.
