Donald Trump, the President of the United States, has expressed his condolences for the loss of noted conservative activist and associate, Charlie Kirk.

Kirk’s passing was announced on Wednesday, September 10, in a message shared on Trump’s Truth Social account.

Previously, Trump had urged the public to pray for Kirk after he sustained a gunshot wound to the neck at Utah Valley University.

“We must all pray for Charlie Kirk, who has been shot. A great guy from top to bottom. GOD BLESS HIM!” Trump wrote.

Shortly after, Trump announced Kirk’s passing and directed that all American flags be flown at half-mast in his honour.

“The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead. No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie. He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family. Charlie, we love you!”

“In honor of Charlie Kirk, a truly Great American Patriot, I am ordering all American Flags throughout the United States lowered to Half Mast until Sunday evening at 6 P.M.,” he said.
