Ukraine is continuing to target Russia’s oil infrastructure.
Overnight, Ukrainian drones reportedly struck the Samara oil pumping station, setting the facility ablaze.
It was gathered that Ukraine isn’t just targeting the oil Russia produces. It’s going after the infrastructure needed to move it.
And with global energy markets already under enormous pressure, every disruption to Russia’s oil network carries consequences well beyond the battlefield.
The extent of the damage at Samara is still unclear.
The Samara facility is one of Russia’s major oil receiving, storage, and blending hubs. Crude arrives via trunk pipelines from Tatarstan, Western Siberia, and other producing regions; operators blend different grades there to create the Urals export blend.
Ukrainian authorities say the station also supports Russian military needs.
This was a repeat strike. Ukraine’s General Staff confirmed that an earlier attack on October 7 destroyed four large RVS-50000 storage tanks and sparked a major fire at the same site.
The latest overnight operation’s full impact remains under assessment.
Strikes of this kind form part of Ukraine’s broader campaign against Russian energy infrastructure aimed at reducing Moscow’s military and economic capacity.
