Controversial Afrobeats singer, Portable has explained why he walked out of the ring during his celebrity boxing rematch against Nollywood actor, Charles Okocha, alleging foul play mid-fight.
In a video posted on his Instagram story on Saturday, a shirtless and visibly agitated Portable gestured emphatically while showing a small red mark on his back, which he described as a bite wound.
“Charles Okocha bit me on the back and locked my neck tightly during the boxing match,” Portable said, recounting the moment he abandoned round one.
“He bit me, number one. He choked my neck. Camera it. That’s why I say I don’t fight again. I’m big! I’m bigger than the money! I’m a star!” he added.
Portable also claimed the bout turned into wrestling rather than boxing, alleging that after he landed a heavy punch, Okocha resorted to biting and clinching
“They said he eats Molly. He didn’t see Molly anymore. So he ate my back,” he said, referencing speculation about Okocha’s pre-fight preparation.
The July 31, 2026 “Unfinished Business” rematch at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, descended into chaos in the first round.
After an early exchange of punches, Portable grabbed Okocha and wrestled him to the canvas, prompting the referee and security to struggle to separate the fighters before the bell rang.
Portable then walked out of the ring amid boos from sections of the crowd, later returning briefly to argue that taking Okocha down meant he had won, but officials ruled he had abandoned the match.
He was subsequently disqualified, and Okocha was declared the winner by TKO, igniting viral memes and debate over the street-fight style of Nigerian celebrity boxing.
While Portable’s video focused on the alleged bite and choke, his management issued a separate statement apologising to fans and organisers for the disruption.
Portable, however, framed his exit as a matter of self-worth, insisting he would not fight again.
“That’s why I say I don’t fight again. I’m big! I’m bigger than the money! I’m a star!” he declared.
