Spain’s young stars Lamine Yamal and Nico Williams served up a dose of swagger about their country’s chances at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with Yamal forecasting a semifinal line-up of France vs Spain and Portugal vs Argentina and Williams brushing off concerns about France’s firepower.

“In my head, the semifinals should be: France vs Spain and Portugal vs Argentina,” Lamine Yamal said, laying out a confident path for La Roja.

“We’ve already beaten them twice,” Nico Williams added when a presenter pointed to France’s attacking quality, downplaying the threat and emphasising Spain’s belief in their own squad.

The presenter interjected, “But they have a lot of dynamite.”

Nico responded, “My God, they have players,” and Yamal cut in with a single, pointed question: “And us?”
