Yemen’s air defenses reportedly shot down a United States drone over Marib province, Tasnim News Agency said, releasing video that appears to show an aerial object trailing smoke and fire before spiralling to the ground.

The footage shared by the agency shows what it identifies as a drone burning in the sky and descending in an unstable spiral.
Subsequent clips show local residents in traditional dress gathering at a rocky, hilly crash site where smoke and debris rise from the wreckage as people move in to inspect the scene.
Tasnim’s claim aligns with recent announcements by Houthi forces, who said they had downed a U.S. MQ-9 Reaper in the Marib area around May 17–18 amid the long-running conflict in Yemen and a pattern of U.S. strikes in the country.
U.S. officials have yet confirmed the incident.
The report adds to mounting tensions in the region and highlights the risks posed by increased drone operations and air defenses operating near front lines.
