WAICA congratulates AIICO on outstanding performance at OESAI

The West African Insurance Companies Association (WAICA) has congratulated the Board, Executive Management and staff of AIICO Insurance Plc for their outstanding performance at the 6th Organization of Eastern and Southern Africa Insurers (OESAI) Quiz, where the company emerged as the only West African team to reach the finals.
The competition, sponsored by Ghana Re, featured eight teams from the West African sub-region, comprising seven from Nigeria and one from Ghana. AIICO distinguished itself by securing a place in the final stage of the contest.
In a congratulatory letter signed by its Secretary General/Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Davis Iyasere, WAICA described AIICO’s achievement as a remarkable milestone, noting that the company reached the finals in its first appearance at the prestigious regional competition.
“Reaching the finals in your very first appearance at this prestigious regional competition is a remarkable milestone,” Iyasere stated.
He commended the quiz team members for their impressive display of knowledge, confidence and determination, while also applauding the company’s management for providing the vision and support that contributed to the achievement.
WAICA extended its congratulations to AIICO on the accomplishment and expressed confidence that the company would record even greater success in future regional and international competitions. The association also noted that the AIICO team would receive a cash prize in recognition of its performance.
The association further commended Sanlam Life and Sanlam General from Nigeria, as well as Hollard Ghana, for representing the West African sub-region in the competition.
Iyasere encouraged more insurance companies to support staff participation in such contests, describing the performance of the participating teams as an inspiration for the industry.
Out of 92 teams that entered the competition, AIICO was among the 15 teams that advanced to the finals after a three-week contest involving insurers from across the continent.
The quiz competition was won by Great Rift of Mosaic – ICEA Lion Assurance of Uganda.
