FC Barcelona has confirmed on Thursday that teenage star Lamine Yamal has suffered a hamstring injury in his left leg, specifically to the biceps femoris muscle, ruling him out for the remainder of the 2025-26 season.

Tests carried out on the 18-year-old winger verified the injury, and the club has outlined a conservative treatment plan.

Yamal will miss Barcelona’s final six La Liga matches as the team pushes for a strong finish, but medical updates indicate he should be fully available for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

“The tests carried out have confirmed that first-team player Lamine Yamal has a hamstring injury in his left leg (biceps femoris muscle). The player will follow a conservative treatment plan. Lamine Yamal will miss the remainder of the season, and he is expected to be available for the World Cup,” the club stated in an official announcement.

Fans took to social media with a mix of disappointment and optimism, expressing relief over his timely recovery for Spain’s national team campaign while lamenting the blow to Barcelona’s attack.

Many called for teammates like Roony Bardghji to step up in Yamal’s absence during this critical stretch.

Yamal, who has dazzled with his speed and skill this season, now focuses on rehabilitation ahead of the global showpiece in the summer.
