Barcelona has agreed a deal to sign Brazilian forward Gabriel Jesus from Arsenal in a permanent transfer worth about €10 million plus add-ons, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Romano said the 29-year-old has been authorised by Arsenal to travel to Spain on Monday for his medical examination.

“Barcelona agree deal to sign Gabriel Jesus from Arsenal, here we go! Exclusive details: medical booked on Monday, Arsenal to receive €10m package plus add-ons for permanent deal,” Romano wrote.

The agreement is expected to see Jesus sign an initial two-year contract at the Camp Nou, with an option for an additional season that could keep him at Barcelona until 2029.

Jesus reportedly accepted the offer immediately, viewing a move to the Spanish giants as a dream opportunity.

Barcelona see the former Manchester City striker as an immediate option to lead the attack following Robert Lewandowski’s departure.

The Catalan club had explored other attacking options, including a move for Julián Álvarez, but failed to complete a deal.

For Arsenal, the sale would allow the club to reduce its wage bill in the final year of Jesus’ contract.

The Brazilian’s game time had reduced following the emergence and availability of attacking options such as Kai Havertz and Viktor Gyökeres, while he also faced a lengthy recovery after suffering a knee injury in early 2025.

Jesus joined Arsenal from Manchester City in 2022 and helped the Gunners challenge for major honours, although injuries and competition for places have limited his impact in recent seasons.
