Bellingham is one of world’s best midfielders — Chicharito

Former Manchester United and Real Madrid striker Javier Chicharito Hernández has praised Jude Bellingham, describing the England international as one of the best midfielders in world football.

Chicharito made the comments during a recent appearance on the Rio Ferdinand Presents podcast, where he highlighted Bellingham’s ability to influence both the attacking and defensive phases of the game.

“He’s one of the best midfielders in the world,” Chicharito said.

The Mexican forward added that Bellingham combines the creativity of an attacking midfielder with the defensive discipline of a deeper player.

“He plays like a No. 10 and defends like a No. 5. His work rate is incredible,” he said.

Chicharito also backed Bellingham to thrive under José Mourinho, who returned to Real Madrid in June 2026.

The former striker believes Mourinho’s preference for hardworking and tactically disciplined players will suit the 23-year-old midfielder.

“Under Mourinho at Real Madrid, he’s going to be insane,” Chicharito added.

Bellingham has continued to establish himself as a key figure at Real Madrid, with his versatility, goalscoring ability and defensive contribution making him one of the club’s most influential players.

Chicharito has previously described him as an underrated player who has consistently performed at an elite level.
