Nigeria’s Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) assets increased by N2.1 trillion, rising from N27.452 trillion in December 2025 to N29.518 trillion as of March 31, 2026, according to data obtained by Daily Economy from the National Pension Commission.
PenCom’s unaudited report on the pension fund industry portfolio for the period ended March 31, 2026—covering Approved Existing Schemes, Closed Pension Fund Administrators, Retirement Savings Account (RSA) funds, unremitted contributions held by the Central Bank of Nigeria, and legacy funds—revealed a steady growth in pension assets.
The report showed that the largest portion of the funds, amounting to N17.14 trillion, was invested in Federal Government securities. The remaining assets were diversified across corporate debt securities, money market instruments, mutual funds, and both domestic and foreign equities
