Court orders final forfeiture of billions in assets from businesswoman Achimugu

A Federal Capital Territory High Court sitting in Apo has granted the final forfeiture of luxury properties and cash linked to businesswoman Ms. Aisha Achimugu to the Federal Government.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) announced the development in a statement on Thursday.

According to the statement, the assets include “jewelries worth N4,645,170,294.9 approximately N4.645 billion, eleven exotic cars worth N4.293 billion, $50,000 and N30,000,000 cash.”

Justice Jude Onwugbuzie delivered the order following an application by the EFCC.

The EFCC statement reads in part, “A Federal Capital Territory, FCT, High Court sitting in the Apo, Abuja, has granted the final forfeiture of properties linked to a business woman, Ms Aisha Achimugu to the federal government.”

The forfeiture marks the latest recovery in a series of actions against assets suspected to be proceeds of unlawful activities connected to Achimugu and her companies.
