“Don’t cry, my princess,” Ogogo tells daughter before death

An emotional WhatsApp exchange between late Nollywood veteran Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, and his daughter, Kira Olawunmi, has surfaced online following the actor’s death.
In the messages dated July 26, 2026, Ogogo reportedly comforted his daughter after hearing that she had been crying over his health condition.
The veteran actor, who died on August 23 at the age of 66 after a battle with stage 4 cancer, urged her to remain strong and hold onto her faith.
“Olawunmi, how are you? I heard you are crying. Seeing you and your sisters smile is making me strong,” the actor wrote.
He continued, “If you cry, it will make me sad and I will start to think. Be strong. I am strong. Nothing is going to happen to me, Insha Allah.”
In a particularly touching line, Ogogo added, “Or you don’t believe in Allah? If you do, then don’t cry, my princess.”
His daughter responded by reassuring him that she trusted in Allah and loved him deeply.
“Daddy, I’m not crying oo… don’t mind Haleemah oo. I trust in Allah, sir. I love you very much,” Kira wrote.
The exchange has stirred emotional reactions from fans and colleagues, with many describing it as a painful reminder of the actor’s devotion to his family even as he faced a serious illness.
