Enugu Air warns of flight rescheduling as Abuja Airport shuts over industrial action

Enugu Air has notified passengers that some of its flights may be rescheduled after the temporary suspension of operations at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, due to an ongoing industrial action blocking staff access to the terminal.

In an official notice dated August 11, 2026, the Enugu State–owned carrier said the industrial dispute at Abuja’s airport has forced a temporary halt to operations there, with knock-on effects across its domestic network.

The airline urged travelers to “check your email, SMS, and our official social media pages for updates on your flight status” before heading to any airport, and directed those affected to contact its Customer Service Team for rebooking and enquiries.

The carrier’s statement explained the cause and impact in detail,
“Please be informed that due to an ongoing industrial action at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, where union workers are denying staff access into the airport terminal, operations at the airport have been temporarily suspended.”

It added, “Consequently, some of Enugu Air flights may experience rescheduling until further notice, we work to adjust our network.

“We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this may cause. Your safety and well-being remain our highest priority.”

The notice closed with a reassurance to passengers, “We appreciate your patience, understanding, and continued trust in Enugu Air. We look forward to welcoming you onboard soon.”

Launched in mid‑2025 and operating Embraer regional jets on domestic routes, Enugu Air is among several airlines affected by broader labour disputes disrupting operations at major Nigerian hubs, including Abuja and Lagos.
