FAAN opens probe after viral video shows AVSEC–passenger confrontation at Osubi Airport

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has launched an immediate investigation after a video circulating on social media showed an interaction between Aviation Security (AVSEC) personnel and a passenger at Osubi Airport.
In a statement signed Sunday by Henry Agbebire, Director, Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, FAAN said the Managing Director/Chief Executive “views the matter with utmost seriousness and has directed an immediate investigation to establish all the facts and circumstances surrounding the incident.”
The authority added that the outcome of the probe “will guide any further action that may be considered necessary,” and warned that “should the investigation establish any breach of FAAN’s operational procedures or professional standards, appropriate administrative and disciplinary measures will be taken in accordance with the Authority’s regulations.”
FAAN stressed its commitment to “maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, safety, security and customer service across all its airports,” and assured the public that it treats complaints with seriousness.
The statement concluded, “FAAN remains committed to transparency, accountability and continuous improvement in the delivery of safe, secure and passenger-focused airport services.”
