Ikeja Electric, a major power distribution company in Nigeria, apologised for ongoing power supply disruptions affecting parts of its network due to reduced allocation from the national grid.

In the statement on Friday, the company explained, “We sincerely regret the ongoing power supply challenges currently affecting some areas within our network due to reduced power allocation from the grid.

“As part of efforts to maintain grid stability and ensure equitable distribution of available power, temporary load shedding is being implemented across affected feeders and locations.

“Please be assured that we are working closely with relevant stakeholders to improve supply and minimise the impact on our customers as quickly as possible.

“We appreciate your patience, cooperation, and understanding during this period.”

The announcement, released on Nigeria’s Workers’ Day, has sparked widespread frustration among customers, particularly those on Band A and B feeders who claim they’re receiving far fewer hours of electricity than promised.
